This August heat requires a little more maintenance than other times of the year. I have my fruit infused water on hand for swelling and an arsenal of skincare to prep my skin for Georgia’s fiery days.
For starters, I am using a cream exfoliator twice a week. I love this Beautycounter one because it nourishes my skin, while rubbing away any dry spots. I feel like I have a brand new face with each use! I use the Beautycounter Balancing Oil nightly – summer days can have my skin going from dry to extra oily/greasy, so this is a great oil! I use it generously and go to bed with a thick layer on my face!
I am LOVING this Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil. Sephora just picked up this brand, and rightly so! It is too good! The antioxidants are great for clogged pores and it cleanses well, without being too oily. I am only cleansing at night these days – trying to leave good oils on my skin to combat heat and dryness.
My Little Barn Apothecary obsession continues. This mask is getting some major use- it moisturizes and evens out my skin tone. I love how it smells too- I feel like I’m at the spa with each use. I usually don’t like masks because they get so tight and I have to put a lot of serums on after. This one does the opposite – it is moisturizing and glowy. I love it! I also recently picked up the Little Barn Apothecary Aloe + Rosewater Balancing Mist. It is a great skin prepper and pick-me-upper throughout the day. A summer must-have, in my book!
My never-fail RMS Coconut Cream is my year-round staple. I use it as a glowy, dewy moisturizer in the morning. It moisturizes, evens and makes my makeup go on super smooth. I don’t go anywhere without it.
To keep my skin glowy, I apply my True Natural Tropical Self Tan weekly. For those that have followed me for a while, you have seen me rave about this stuff. It gives a natural color and very little scent. Praise hands! I even feel comfortable applying it in the morning. I’ll usually scrub with the Dr. Federenko Sugar Scrub at night and apply my tanner after my shower in the morning. This sugar scrub is great – non greasy and super grainy to get all of dry spots!
I’ve had some questions lately about eye cream, so I thought I would share my tried-and-true products! Eye cream is especially helpful in the summer, when we may be a little dehydrated some days and have our dark shadows show up. To combat circles and fine lines, I first make sure I am drinking a lot of extra water (usually with lemon and cucumber). I apply my Beautycounter Rejeuvenating Eye Cream at night for moisture and in the morning, the 100% Pure miracle-worker – the Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream. Everyone I know that has tried this eye cream loves it! It smoothes, lightens circles and gives off a glow! I just love it! It sets my concealer really well too!
Best wishes for beating the heat! I have 5 weeks to go until baby and I am doing everything I can to stay cool, hydrated and glowy.
