By now, you know I have some true love for Aillea - Atlanta's Newest Clean Beauty Boutique! (There are two other locations - one in Denver and a brand new Charleston location!) Today is the pre-launch for Aillea x Kristen Arnett Green Beauty Icon Experience Box! Stop what you're doing right now and order it HERE. Because I guarantee you this thing will SELL OUT!!
The box is only $97.50 for SO MUCH GOODNESS. It's worth $164.50, so you're saving almost 70 bucks!!! I love every. single. product. in the box - they seriously did such an amazing job curating this collection. I would consider every product in the box, a 'cult' green beauty item. AKA MUST HAVE!!
Here's what you get:
What do you think of all of this curated box? Are you going to place an order??
Several weeks ago, I polled my Instagram followers and asked which topics they would like me to cover in the clean world - from motherhood to beauty products. By far, the most requested topics was clean MASCARAS!
Girl, I get it. A good mascara is such a game-changer (especially if you have almost blonde eyelashes like me)!
I did some testing so that I could make my most-informed post for you all. I stuck to the formulas that are the most buzzed about in the Clean Beauty world. Here's a list of the ones that I tried:
These are all amazing companies and I chose these to try because a lot of people love each one! So, this post is strictly my own opinion, but I have found my very favorites and I think you will love them too! Clean mascaras are going to be a little different from conventional mascaras because it is one product that has to really be anti-microbial (it's closest to your eyes!!) but most conventional preservatives contain parabens and other harmful ingredients. So, the preservatives and ingredients to give staying power (you won't find any clean mascaras labeled 'waterproof') are something that these brands had to work hard to create. Also, the carbon black that is used in conventional mascaras is potentially very harmful! To give these mascaras extra staying power, a lot of days I use the Primer from the Honest Beauty Truly Lush Mascara + Lash Primer. The mascara end is great, too. It just didn't end up being my favorite. But if you want a one + done, go for the Honest Beauty Duo! It's great!
Why I love it: First of all, it's a multi-tasking mascara/serum/conditioner all in one. So, it's going to help promote lash growth! Hallelujah! It contains vitamins and antioxidants to help lashes grow thicker and have less breakage! I definitely have felt it's nourishing effects! As for performance, it was the best in my opinion. Especially when paired with my Honest Primer. Some of the other formulas flaked or smudged for me and this one does not. It is also the thickest formula. I saw volume + length because I can really build with this formula. I also really liked the brush, compared to all of the others. I like a really bristle-y brush (hello former Diorshow addict). I just feel like bristle-y brushes cover really well. This one is thicker on one end and gets really tiny on the other end, so you can really work with it!
This has been my #1 ever since I started using clean beauty products. I'm so glad it stood the test against so many other favorites. It doesn't flake or smudge. The formula has great building power. This is a great makeup bag staple, for sure!! Bonus: it smells really good from the fruit extract ingredients!!
Honorable mention: Beautycounter Volumizing Mascara (contains phenoxyethanol, an preservative ingredient that some try to avoid) I thought this one performed really well, compared to the others!
Have you tried these? What do you think?
There's something about the change of seasons that has my skin completely out of whack! Unfortunately, I've noticed my skin on my body is dry to the point of flaking and itching...and so is my scalp! Yikes!
If this sounds like you, thankfully I have found some products that have been working their magic and saving my skin. And not just helping a little, but completely restoring my skin + scalp! Read on to see what I've been using!
The first key to dry skin is exfoliation. You have to get that dry skin off, so that your body can produce new, healthy skin! I love an in-shower scrub, but usually they are just too oily for me. I am so happy to have discovered the Indie Lee Coconut Citrus Scrub because it does the job without leaving me greasy. The scrub comes as more of a solid (vs granules suspended in an oil) and that's due to the fact that Indie uses coconut oil (which solidifies when it's not heated)! I love, love, love this stuff. For my face, I prefer something that does not contain much oil at all. I want mostly scrubbies so I can have fresh skin to apply my skincare. I have been using the Acai Pulp Facial Scrub from 100% Pure and it's perfect! It's made with Organic Acai Berries, which are naturally high in Vitamins A + C to help balance the skin.
To restore moisture in the skin on my body, I am obsessed with the Osea Anti-Aging Body Balm. It is pure luxury! It's this milky elixir that just feels amazing. I don't really detect a scent. I LOVE it!! It's not a lotion, and not an oil. It's perfection!
For extra hydration on my face, I love the Josh Rosebrook Advanced Hydration Mask. You may have caught this on my Jade Roller Instagram Story! This thing WORKS. You can leave it on as long as you like. The removal is waterless, so you simply remove with a cloth or cotton pad. I like to follow with the Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream for a mega boost of moisture!!
OK, now it's time to talk about the embarrassing thing that I mentioned earlier. DRY SCALP. Thankfully, this issue is seasonal for me and not year-round. When I notice the dryness at my hairline, it's Max Green Alchemy time! This Shampoo + Conditioner really works and leaves my hair just as it found it (not drying or greasy for me)!
I hope you can find some relief!! GOOD NEWS!! Spring is right around the corner!
I put so much thought and care into the products that I choose for myself, that I'm sure you can imagine the weight of responsibility I felt in choosing products for my baby. I am so happy to announce that I have found a line that I LOVE! It's not just for bath products, but also a natural baby sunscreen and bug spray!!
Erbaviva from Pretty Pure Beauty is a truly organic line of products that are effective and beautiful. The natural scents from essential oils and extracts make bath time + baby care even sweeter. I truly believe that these are some of the BEST products that I can use on my baby.
For bath time, we use the Erbaviva Baby Body Wash. It is incredibly gentle and has a slightly sweet + bright scent from organic mandarin and chamomile. Chapel absolutely loves bath time and has discovered kicking + splashing. A bright + happy baby wash is so fitting for her! After her bath, I wrap her in a hooded towel and moisturize with the Erbaviva Baby Butter. The Baby Butter is amazing because I enjoy applying the excess to my own hands, too! It is smooth and non-greasy!
For outdoor play, I am happy to have the Baby Sunscreen and Buzz Spray on hand. These are both lightweight, lightly scented and effective. The Baby Sunscreen is SPF 30 and naturally crafted with zinc oxide + essential oils. It rubs in very easily, too!
In Georgia, we have a terrible time with bugs + mosquitoes. I ALWAYS have bug spray with me in the Spring + Summer because you cannot enjoy being outdoors without it. Most bug sprays are scarier than the insects themselves, as they are made from harsh + harmful ingredients. This Buzz Spray is made of organic ingredients and essential oils, so I can feel good about spraying it on a tiny baby! My baby girl LOVES to be outdoors, so nothing is going to stop us this Spring!!
Pretty Pure Beauty offers Free Shipping on orders over $50! It's a great time to stock up on clean products for your precious little one. Not sure how to read labels of what you're currently using? Download the Think Dirty App to check your products. Time to get some Erbaviva on those baby bodies!!

You may have seen on Instagram that I met with the founder of MUN Skincare, Munemi Imai, last week and got the full scoop on every product in her line. We met virtually and in my master bathroom, so I could test all of the products as we talked through them. Munemi shared with me the backstory of starting her line, how she developed each of her products and some great general info about skincare. Not to mention, she was just about the sweetest person!
Munemi is originally from Japan and my maternal grandmother was Japanese! I found out that toners are essential to the Japanese skincare regimen and maybe, just maybe that has something to do with ROSEWATER toners being my favorite beauty product?! It's inherited ;) The MUN Anarose Toner is my favorite and it is specifically formulated to neutralize the pH in your skin before applying serum. It's SO GOOD. The toners that Munemi found in the US when she moved to NYC in April 2001 were all formulated wrong, in her opinion. They were astringent-like and drying to the skin so she wanted to introduce what’s the real toner is supposed to be that balance skin’s pH and hydrate the skin. The ROSEWATER has a variety of benefits, including anti-aging, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and hydrating. Anarose also balance skin’s pH level, includes goji berry for antioxidants, anti-pollution and anti-aging and a pale flower combination for brightening and skin softening. I just love it! I spray it on a cotton pad morning and evening, right before applying an oil or serum.
My second favorite MUN product is the Aknari Brightening Youth Serum. I can truly feel this serum working on my skin. Aknari contains Prickly Pear Seed Oil, which has the highest Vitamin E of any other oil. It is meant to be multi-purpose, as you can use it as a face serum, neck serum and eye serum. I use it on all of those areas and a little goes a long way! Love, love, love this serum! I feel like I have definitely noticed an improvement in the tone of my skin.
The Aknari Brightening Youth Serum can be applied after toning and cleansing. The MUN Akwi Purifying Cleanser is a hybrid of an oil cleanser and a balm cleanser, according to Munemi. It is meant to be an all-in-one makeup remover and cleanser.
Munemi created the Ayour Body Toning Serum to close the gap between heavy lotions and greasy oils. The Ayour is a dry oil and while it is incredibly moisturizing, you don't have to deal with a greasy, oily feeling! Munemi also considers is a 'treatment oil,' as it has been show to help with stretch marks, scars, wrinkles, discoloration and sun damage. Not to mention, it smells like heaven - due to a calming blend of essential oils!! You can also use the Argan Oil on the body - it is multi-purpose from head to toe! You can use the Argan Oil on your hair, face, body and cuticles!
I first got the MUN Travel Set to try every product in the line. I loved them so much that I got the full size. You can also get the Face Set at a discount (Save $30!!), to have the Cleanser, Toner and Serum. Have I mentioned that they all come in GLASS BOTTLES?? Even the travel size!!
I love this line of luxury, natural skincare products. Not only are the products high-quality and effective, MUN works with co-ops in Morocco to insure a fair-wage and extra income for the women involved with sourcing the ingredients. This is an excerpt about their partnership, from their website:
'Comprised of women mainly between the ages of 18 to 50, these cooperatives were formed by local Berbers, most of whom reside in Morocco’s mountainous desert regions. These groups allow the female community a chance to work for a fair wage while connecting with other local women. Not only does this provide a valuable source of extra income for their families, it also gives them a degree of autonomy in their careers, financial situations, and social lives. These collectives serve as important social anchors and allow for a higher quality of life for the community as a whole.'
How cool is that?! Which MUN products do you want to try??
*All products received c/o MUN
So much about motherhood has been different from what I had expected. One of most fun discoveries is watching my daughter's personality unfold. Before she was born, I had all of the soft, muted neutrals colors waiting for her. As we are getting to know her, it seems more fitting to add some color into her nursery and wardrobe. She is drawn to bright colors and patterns. I'm sure most babies are, but I love watching her discover the colorful things around her. It's made me want to add some color to my own wardrobe, too!
I have compiled a list of some of the things that we have discovered lately that have made our life easier, less toxic and sometimes a little more colorful ;)
This rug is GENIUS. It's 100% Cotton, dyed with Non-Toxic Dyes and MACHINE WASHABLE. Not to mention the prints are the CUTEST. Guys. This changes everything. HA! But seriously, I wanted a shag rug for our nursery but I was nervous about all of the fluids that would be projected onto it and didn't pull the trigger. When I discovered, Lorena Canals - all of my nursery rug dreams came true. We will have this rug FOREVER because we can just throw it in the washer whenever we need to. This is the type of piece that is truly an investment because it can grow with our kids. I can also feel good about the fact that it's natural + non-toxic when my little baby is rolling all over it and let's be honest- putting her mouth on it. It's been so fun to see her take to the colors and patterns on it, too. I love this print, this print (on sale!) and this print too!(received with compliments from Lorena Canals)
It's so important to have non-toxic diapers and wipes because my baby is in constant contact with them. However, it's the hardest thing to pull the trigger on putting extra money into because they get thrown away. I found a truly budget-friendly option for non-toxic diapers with Thrive. I think the best part may be that they show up at my door and we aren't making last minute diaper runs! I am also a plain white diaper person because our girl wears so many white outfits and I didn't like the diaper patterns showing through. I am so happy that Thrive started making these diapers because they are CHEAPER than any of the other non-toxic diapers that I've found! I feel good knowing that I am putting the purest disposable diapers + wipes possible on my baby's body.
DockATot is such a good find for my baby who loves to be COZY. She wants to snuggle up to anything and everything at naptime. I feel great about letting her cozy up in the DockATot at naptime. It's also portable, so we can move it to any room in the house and take it with us on the go! Some of the benefits of the DockATot include it's breathability - it's made from 100% cotton - and handmade in Europe. It's one of those things that we didn't buy right off the bat, but we are so glad that we have one now for our cozy girl. (received with compliments from DockATot)
I will never forget the first time I parked my car in the grocery store and it occurred to me that I had no idea what to do with my baby while I shopped. I didn't have a babywearing carrier with me. Do I put the carseat in the cart? (Which, by the way, is nearly impossible at Trader Joes - tiny carts!) Do I put the baby in the stroller and put the groceries in my stroller? That feels weird. And the basket in my stroller is way too small for all of my groceries. I can forget buying toilet paper with any of those options. After struggling with my first several attempts at grocery shopping (I know all of you organized mamas are doing Clicklist, but I rarely shop with a list!!) - I am so happy to have discovered Binxy! It takes up so much less space than the carseat in the grocery cart. And still allows for my baby to be comfy during the shopping trip! Not to mention, she LOVES it. She can see everything and still wiggle around, as opposed to riding in a baby carrier! (received compliments of Binxy Baby)
Before Chapel was born, I knew I wanted to use the all natural rubber pacifiers. I ordered the Natursutten and to this day, it's the only one she uses. I have tried others and she just loves her Natursuttens. She only uses it in her crib and I feel great knowing she's not sucking on plastic in her sleep. It also made bottle feeding easier because they make a nipple that is similar to the paci that she was already used to. Not to mention, the bottles are glass and I will choose glass all day, every day over plastic for my family.
Have you tried any of these products? What do you think?
ooooh, i LOVE a subscription box!! Especially when it includes FULL SIZE PRODUCTS!!
The box costs $49.95 and you get over $131 worth of amazing products! Here's what you'll find in the March Box:
Hynt Beauty Sun Prep SPF 25 ($55 value) - This formula acts as a primer and creates a smooth base for your makeup. It's not greasy or shiny, just beautiful.
Hynt Beauty Alto Matte Blush in Nude Apricot ($28 value) - I'm wearing this blush in the photo and I love it. It goes on with tons of pigment, really smooth (not blotchy) and it's a tawny peach color that will be so pretty this summer.
Hynt Beauty Finale Finishing Powder in Translucent Pearl ($40 value) - This powder is my favorite kind of setting powder - light, not cakey and it has a pearl sheen. It's not super thick and matte.
Hynt Beauty Flawless Blending Sponge ($8 value) - Blending sponges are simply the best for applying a cream foundation. I love the hourglass shape of this one. So good for foundation application and the pointed end can get around the nose and under eyes so well.
This kind of goodness can show up at your door every month at an even better value! A 3 month subscription is $44.95 per month and 6 month subscription goes down to $39.95 per month. Make sure you go ahead and preorder The March Detox Market Box with Hynt Beauty.
You may have guessed it, but rosewater is my absolute favorite beauty product. It has so many different uses and I see gorgeous results. However, beauty products are not just about results for me. I enjoy the process of taking care of myself, just as much as the outcome.
There's something about rosewater that is so satisfying. The light essence of the rose can be detected when you spray it and the end result is a hydrated glow.
What is rosewater? It is made by steeping rose petals in water. I use it in various toners (my favorites are listed below) that are a blend of rose water and other natural ingredients.
Read on for some of my favorite uses for rosewater:
- Rosewater helps to maintain your skin's pH balance, so using it as a toner after cleansing is a great prep for serums and oils. It will also help to clear impurities from your skin that your cleanser left behind. Simply mist onto a cotton pad and swipe over entire face.
- Because of rosewater's astringent properties of removing impurities, it can help to reduce breakouts and reduce pore size without drying your skin.
- Rosewater is a gentle exfoliator. Exfoliation is so important for healthy skin. The more we exfoliate and slough off dead skin, the more our skin cells turnover and renew themselves.
- The aroma is a mood enhancer. Spritz face and body throughout the day to feel uplifted and increase hydration.
- Rosewater has hydrating and moisturizing properties. I like to spritz onto a makeup sponge (like Beautyblender) or foundation brush (like Beautycounter) to help achieve a smooth + even foundation application.
- Rosewater has antioxidant properties, so regular use can help slow the process of fine lines.
- I like to set my makeup with a few spritzes for extra glow.
- On days when I am not wearing makeup, an oil or serum with spritzes of rosewater will do for a fresh face.
So many uses. See why I love it?!
I have run through entire bottles of this one and this one.
Have you tried rosewater?

I LOVE sales like this! It's a great chance to try new makeup without a huge investment! I think everyone should pick up the Su/stain Lip Stain in Crushed Bloom. It's peachy nude with tons of pigment. It is matte and not sheer at all! So good! I'm wearing it in this photo.
I'm also wearing the Cream Shadow in Coffee in this photo and I would totally try it out in the colors Shiraz or Bliss (on sale for $14)! They are so creamy and have great color payoff. Super easy to apply!
And YES, PLEASE to the Lip Gloss in Nudist or Passionfruit!!
If you are looking for something else to put in your cart, I LOVE the Foundation Starter Kit. I have it in Light and I was able to find my perfect match (shade Seville). One of my top favorite things in the world is a warm escape, right in the middle of Winter. Jonathan and I have made a little winter escape at the beginning of the year, every year since we have been married (half way into our fourth year!). We haven't always made it on an airplane - two years ago we staycationed at Barnsley Resort. This year, we are heading somewhere warm and I am SO READY.
Jonathan and I look forward to this trip at the beginning of the year because we use the time to plan for our year ahead. We talk about our goals for ourselves and our family. We also discuss how we are going to spend our time and our money. (Jonathan is pretty wise for taking me somewhere fun to talk about one of my least favorite things...the budget.)
No matter where we stay, I like to bring my own shower items. Even if it is a nice hotel, the products are usually ridden with heavy fragrance or yucky chemicals. I swear, the better the hotel, the more heavy fragrance. Yikes! I love this Travel Shampoo + Conditioner by Rahua and Travel Hairspray by Josh Rosebrook. Hotels typically supply makeup remover wipes these days (to avoid having your makeup on their towels) but I like to take a few of these individually wrapped makeup remover wipes - the RMS Wipes. If you have a long travel day or late nights, The Eye Achiever Eye Serum does wonders for dark circles. My favorite deodorant comes in travel size! The Travel-size Agent Nateur Deodorant is perfect for your carry-on!

My absolute top favorite pick for a Valentine's gift this year is the Goop Fragrance Eau de Parfum: Edition 02. If you don't already know, traditional fragrances are one of the most toxic things you can put on your body. Before going green, I loved my Tocca Fragrance from Anthropologie (which rates a 9 on Think Dirty App, with 10 being the worst). I am so happy that I found this Goop Fragrance. The best thing about a fragrance that is made from natural oils is not only does it smell amazing, but it also has aromatherapeutic qualities - so it makes you FEEL good too. Once you wear a fragrance like this one, you literally will never be able to go back to synthetic fragrances. I get compliments everywhere I go. My husband LOVES it. I think it is my favorite thing right now and would absolutely make the perfect Valentine's Day gift (to you or for yourself)!
Oskia Rose De Mai Massage, Body Oil & Treatment Candle. A candle that melts down to a body oil and massage oil? Need I say more?
Ok, this Cote Traveler Manicure Set is seriously cute. It comes with two nail colors (free of major toxins), a base and top coat, 2 non-acteone remover pads, a file and a cute travel pouch. The perfect Galentine's Day gift!
I think Vday is the perfect excuse to finally get the Henne Rose Diamonds Lip Polish. For the softest, moisturized lips so you can smooch your sweetie!
My friend, Megan, has these Gorjana Tassel Earrings and they are the prettiest, most classic tassels. Great quality with the gold piece and the prettiest neutral, dark blush. On sale for just $39!
Can we talk about how pj's and loungewear are like the last thing I want to spend my money on. But I always wish I had cuter things to wear around the house. I think some cutesy pj's would be such a fun treat for Vday! I like these, these and these. This romper is too cute!

I have teamed up with my friend, Caroline from Olive You Whole, to create my new favorite party dip! I have always found myself in a predicament with finding things to snack on at parties. If I am avoiding dairy, I am usually left to choose from hummus and the raw veggies. That can be so boring when the table is filled with hot, cheesy dips!
I started to think about what I would bring to a Super Bowl party and found myself wishing for a hot dip that was not full of cheese! I called on Caroline, who is the best Paleo + Whole 30 recipe creator that I know (see tons of examples on her blog) to see if she wanted to create a dairy-free recipe for an all-time favorite, the Buffalo Chicken Dip. This dip is at every party I go to and I love it! The traditional recipe is full of chicken, hot sauce, cream cheese and shredded cheese. I love it, my body doesn't.
You guys. Caroline is an absolute master. She nailed it! We had our families + friends taste test and the results were unanimous - it's amazing!!! "Better than the original" - they said!!! So, here it is. The recipe for the best warm, dairy-free dip - that is sure to be the crowd favorite at your Super Bowl party!!
This recipe is compliant with so many dietary needs: paleo, Whole30, dairy free, gluten free and keto!
14 oz cashews, roasted and salted
3 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 cup full fat coconut milk
10 oz cooked, shredded chicken (3 cups)
2 tbsp gelatin
1 cup Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
3/4 teaspoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon fresh chives, chopped
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Blend cashews, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, full fat coconut milk, gelatin, hot sauce, mayo and spices in a blender or food processor until smooth.
3. In a large bowl, mix the buffalo blend and shredded chicken.
4. Spray your pan (6x9 for thicker dip or 9x13 casserole dish for thinner dip). Spread the dip evenly into the dish, place in oven and bake for 20 minutes or until heated through.
5. Serve with your choice of carrot sticks, celery, chips or crackers! Tag posts of your dip with hashtag #buffalochickdip
Who are you pulling for in the Super Bowl this year? Let's be honest. I go the parties for the snacks and friends ;) I can't wait to see how much everyone LOVES this dip!!
My friend Caroline of Olive You Whole is going on TOUR!!! Her first event is THIS FRIDAY in ATLANTA and you get 25% OFF with code ROSEWATER. SIGN UP HERE for a night all about Paleo + Whole 30, as well as tons of knowledge about having a non-toxic home!! Caroline has a wealth of knowledge for anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle!! It's sure to be an amazing event.
Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away! I have always thought it was a cute little holiday. No matter who your plans are with, there's likely an excuse to get dressed up...and definitely an excuse to have dessert. (Chocolate covered anything, am i right?!)
Jonathan and I have never been ones to make a huge deal about the holiday. At some point that week, however, there will be a dinner reservation (hopefully at St. Cecilia or Sotto Sotto) and a sweet note to each other. I've thought about surprising Jonathan and Chapel with a couple of cute decorations when they wake up (like this LOVE balloon) and a fun themey breakfast (paleo donuts, perhaps?). I'm thinking it's the perfect excuse to order these breakfast trays that I've been eyeing and how cute would this mug be to have coffee in that morning?
Click on the photos below for some cute dresses + rompers for the occasion! Of course, I had to throw in a clean lipstick and less-toxic nail polish recommendation!
I absolutely loved creating a space for our new baby when I was pregnant. Truthfully, I never planned to fully decorate a nursery. I thought that since the baby was not old enough to really enjoy it, I would put more effort into the rest of the house and later design a 'big kid' room. Call it 'nesting' or simply 'getting carried away,' but the room was ready for our baby girl (even though she showed up 2 weeks early)! Once I had a vision for the room, it really started to come together piece-by-piece.
I had to make some big decisions for the room very early on. We were half-way into our complete home renovation when I found out I was pregnant. We needed to stay on schedule with the renovations, so I had to make some design decisions for the room before we even knew the baby's gender. (Fun fact: Initially, we weren't going to find out the baby's gender until they were born. It drove me CRAZY and it was all I could think about. So, we found out at 21 weeks!)
The nursery was originally the master bedroom of our 1929 home and the fireplace is on the back side of the living room fireplace. (We turned our craftsman from a 3 bed/1 bath to a 4 bed/3 bath.) The room is pretty spacious for a nursery and I love all the character that it has. I knew I wanted some sort of wainscoting in the nursery because I love how sweet that feels for a baby room. I decided to go with the shiplap because I love the texture that it provides, without feeling fancy. We also used shiplap in the living room because it felt consistent for the time period of the house (1920s). I chose a very light, warm grey (Sherwin Williams Repose Grey) for the wall paint. The shiplap and fireplace were painted with Sherwin Williams Alabaster. We retiled the fireplace with antique French tile from Wyatt Childs Inc (@wyattchildsinc on Instagram).
Once the renovations were complete, I really began to dream about who this little person would be and that began to take shape in the choices I made for her room. I wanted her little world to be filled with whimsy and even though she won't remember her nursery, I hope the photos one day inspire her to dream.
Baby girl, we wanted you so badly. We prayed for you and we waited. And now that you are here, we pray for you and we show you that anything is possible. We love you so much, dreamer girl.
"Living a life fully engaged and full of whimsy and the kind of things that love does is something most people plan to do, but along the way they just kind of forget." - Bob Goff

These are the actual lipcolors that I'm loving right now. The not-too-holiday and the not-too-spring colors. They look good on skin that hasn't seen the sun in months. And super moisturizing, of course!
For me, January is about doing the things that I wanted to do around the holidays, but I was too busy! Reading books, watching movies, squeezing into a pub booth with good friends! January is less about events and more about being present. I also feel hopeful in January - the start of another year to get right, the things I was getting wrong in the past year.
For a January lipcolor, I like warm nudes or light, happy pinks that make it look like I've been out in the cold. You also need a good red. Because every month needs a good red. Since we've been seeing so much red with holiday decor, I love a warmer tone that doesn't feel like a leftover holiday color. RMS Beauty just released their Wild with Desire Lipsticks and 'Rapture' is the perfect warm red for right now.
How to apply lipcolor:
The first thing about applying lip color is to have a smooth surface on your lips and to moisturize before applying the color. There is the PERFECT product that does both - exfoliating and moisturizing. This is a year-round prep for your lips, but I ESPECIALLY need it in the colder months. The Henne Organics Rose Diamonds Lip Exfoliator is a STAPLE for every makeup bag. Get it now and thank me later.
Next, carefully and evenly apply lipcolor. The best way to do this is with a lip brush. I was never a believer before. I just felt like a lip brush was 'extra' or people were trying to be too fancy. Trust me. It makes all of the difference for even application. You can also skip a separate lip liner if you use one. Although, I love lip liner. So, if you really want a perfect lip. Use one. I carry a nude with me everywhere because I can drag the lip color up to the lip line with it. It works for just about every color. But, it's also great to have a go-to red like this one.
Without further ado, these are the lipcolors to wear right now.
Swatched in the photo above, from left to right:
Kosas in 'Rosewater' - a little 'rosie' in color and the perfect 'i just stepped in from the cold' look (obvi, i love the name!)
Spela in 'Flirt' - matte pinky-nude perfection.
100% Pure Matte Lipstick in 'Pink Canyon' - a darker, pinker nude that will take you right into spring
Spela in 'Spa Day' - a pink-brown matte nude a la Kardashian
RMS in 'Rapture' - the red to wear right now. warm and bright all at the same time.
I also love these products for lips:
Henne Lip Tint in 'Bare' - on-the-go, wear to the gym, moisturizing and so slick
100% Pure Creamy Long Last Lip Liner - pinky-nude lipliner that works with just about any lipcolor
Lip Diamonds - the must have lip exfoliator to prep your lips for color
Lip brush - for the most even application
As a native Southerner, I do not consider myself an expert on the topic of cold weather care at all. However, it seems that we are getting just as much of the freezing temps as other parts of the country this year. And with a new baby, I have more than just my own dry, cracked hands to worry about. For this post, I am listing a few tried and true cold weather products for mom + baby. Atlanta is seeing some cooler temps and will likely get another snow, so I am thinking ahead for those wintry days!
Baby Cold Weather Care
Erbaviva Baby Cream - Chapel's skin on her face has been dry lately and this has worked great for her dry cheeks!
Honest Diaper Rash Cream - My baby girl has not suffered too much from diaper rash, but when I see a little pink - this diaper cream clears it up immediately!
Beautycounter Baby Oil- This is what I slather all over my baby girl's body after bath time. She LOVES it! I think she feels like she's getting a little baby massage! The only ingredients are sunflower oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e, and coconut oil!
Beautycounter Protective Balm - I use this balm on any of her tiny little scratches, like from her finger nails. (Anyone have advice for cutting baby finger nails?? Nothing gives me more anxiety that trying to clip those miniature nails!) This balm clears her little scratches so quickly!

MY Cold Weather Essentials
It sounds counter-intuitive, but the best thing you can do for your skin is a body scrub like Indie Lee's Coconut Citrus Scrub! The scrub will slough off dry, dead skin and moisturize your fresh skin with yummy oils. It is seriously a game-changer and a MUST.
Indie Lee Body Oil - All over moisture without feeling greasy!
Oy-l Manuka Latte Lip Balm - It's so sleek on and super moisturizing! My go-to for my lips right now!
Stay warm! And moisturized ;)
If the name alone doesn't have you curious...how about that rich GREEN color?! The Leahlani Mermaid Mask definitely wins the award for 'most unique' masking experience. I really did not expect it to be so GREEN. It's beautiful really and like a green smoothie for your skin.
Not only can you drink your greens, but you can also nourish your skin with them! This mask gets its emerald green color from organic chlorella and organic spirulina. It's made in Hawaii from the purest ingredients and you can read more about all of the ingredients here.
The mask can be applied a couple of times a week! I have already used it twice this week because it made my skin SO SMOOTH and my dry patches disappeared!
- Face must be moistened. I use my Little Barn Apothecary Aloe + Rose Spray. You could use water, but I like to add extra nourishment with rosewater.
- Apply mask all over, avoiding under eyes. The more moisture on your face, the easier to apply.
- Leave on for 5-15 minutes and rinse with cool water.
- I follow up with Kypris Beauty Elixir III Prismatic Array to lock in moisture.
I really think this mask is for everyone and it's such a great price point at only $32! Have you tried it? Comment below or on my Instagram post with your review!
